Faculty Members from PAHS visit Australia

Dr Ram Krishna Dulal, Associate Professor, Department of Community Health Services and Dr Sujan Vaidya, Assistant Professor of Pathology, from the Patan Academy of Health Sciences are visiting Australia for 3 months.

They are here under an Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Fellowships which aims to further partnership with leaders in developing countries and address priority areas in regional development.


Dr Dulal has given several presentations at major Sydney hospitals, the

University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney about his work in Nepal. He hopes to learn more about Australia's approach to medical education and public health.  He is particularly interested in chronic disease management. Both type 2 Diabetes and chronic airways disease are steadily increasing in urban Nepal. He will also visit Broken Hill and the Royal Flying Doctors Service. Dr Sujan Vaidya is focused on learning more about medical education and laboratory medicine. Dr Dulal will give a short presentation at the upcoming Trivia night in Katoomba on 24th September.
